Upper Deerfield Is Pleased that Lassonde Pappas Will Invest Millions of Dollars to Renovate and Expand Its Production Facilities in the Township
Mayor James Crilley of Upper Deerfield in Cumberland County, New Jersey was informed today that Lassonde Pappas, a food processor of juices, ready-to-drink teas, enhanced waters, isotonics, and cranberry sauces, with a long history here in Cumberland County and a large employer and contributor to the area’s economy, has chosen to build new production facilities here in Upper Deerfield to replace buildings constructed in the 1920’s and 1930’s.
“This is good news for our Township, County and State, and most importantly for nearly 200 employees, and other people and businesses who rely on their relationships with Lassonde Pappas”, said Mayor Jim Crilley of Upper Deerfield.
“The Township Committee and other municipal, county and state officials have worked with Lassonde Pappas representatives over the past several weeks to offer them the incentives that come with building new facilities in the township’s redevelopment areas, recognizing that retaining nearly 200 jobs and the related benefits to the area businesses was of high importance to our community,” added Mayor Crilley.
The proposal for the Upper Deerfield location consists of an expansion of the company’s existing 86,350 sq. ft. distribution building and an investment of approximately $200 million over an estimated two-year period for the construction of a new beverage manufacturing facility next to the distribution building. Once built, this state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, extending across approximately 200,000 square feet, will replace the Company’s existing manufacturing plant at 1043 and 1045 Parsonage Road.
The Mayor said that the township looks forward to working with Lassonde Pappas as this project continues and as they continue their long history of doing business here, employing many people, and supporting our community.
